Currency / Exchange rates / Credit cards

The national currency is the Tunisian Dinar. There 5, 10, 20, 30 and 50 Dinars bills and coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 200, 500 cents and 1 and 5 Dinars.

The approximate exchange rate is:

  • 1 US$ = 1.3 Dinar
  • 1 Euro = 1.7 Dinar

Exchange can be done through Post Offices, Banks, Airport and Hotels at official rates fixed by the Tunisia Central Bank www.bct.gov.tn

Most International Credit Cards are accepted in Hotels and major shops. The most accepted cards in Tunisia are: Visa, MasterCard, Euro Card, American Express and Diners Club.

Postal and banking services / Bureau de change

The Tunisian Post has put at the disposal of participants a Post office within the exhibition Centre to carry out their postal, financial and exchange operations.

Time zone

The official Tunisian time is one hour ahead on the Universal Time in November (GMT+1).

Climate

As a Mediterranean type, the climate in Tunisia is fresh and kind. Average temperatures vary in relation to the seasons and regions but remain nice even during winter. Tunisia is a very appealing country where light intensity conferrers particular reality to beings and things. In November, Hammamet temperatures fluctuate between 13ºC (minimum) and 20ºC (maximum).
